GenAI Transformations in Cybersecurity and Cloud Infrastructure Management

As technology such as AI grows and expands all around in modern-day society, many concerns have been brought up with its increasingly present implementation. Topics such as GenAI, the predictive analysis functions of AI, how AI functions with cybersecurity, and the general technology growth within various industries and fields have become high-profile and controversial conversation points. As the CTO at SIMS at iLink Digital, Thangaraj Petchiappan is a professional who has actively explored and analyzed these topics for years. Through his work, Thangaraj has found unique ways in which AI-powered technology can help to transform businesses across the globe.

Thangaraj’s history with AI includes having established the AI-powered Cybersecurity iLab in the Central US. This is also known as the Research & Innovation lab of the iLink Security and Cloud Infrastructure business unit. From his time joining the company forward, Thangaraj has played and continues to play an essential role in leading the development of innovative solutions that demonstrate the potential of new and emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.

For his work, Thangaraj has received the Dazzle Award from CITI, the Global Recognition Award, the Forbes Technology Council member, the IEEE Systems Council member for Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, and the IEEE Computer Society member. He is widely recognized as a leading innovator within the field, one who fought his way up the ranks through ingenuity and perseverance. His dedication to upholding the highest levels of quality and ethics in technology is further demonstrated by his qualifications in CISA, CISM, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, and ethical hacking, along with Microsoft Security Credentials.

As a thought leader, Thangaraj has shared his insights on numerous technology events. He has been a distinguished speaker at the ForwardTech Virtual Showcase, Health Care & Pharma Cybersecurity Summit, Cloud Counselage, and the Microsoft Technology Center. His presentations often focus on cybersecurity in various industries, emphasizing the importance of innovative and practical solutions.

“When I joined the workforce, instead of focusing only on my daily tasks and PMO tasks, I shared how I initiated and executed my vision of building the Security and Infrastructure division and its key success criteria. I always had a clear goal for my career growth and started to innovate by expanding cybersecurity services to existing and new clients,” Thangaraj says. Throughout his career, he focused on how to make each client successful using cutting-edge technologies rather than looking for new business. Through this process, he successfully grew this team from one to over three hundred globally in just five years and brought in multi-millions to the organization.

Through embracing technological change and innovation, Thangaraj has found unprecedented success, and now he seeks to share that knowledge with the world. “Technology can change the world and GenAI is going to boost Business, Technology and Human. Upskill yourself in technology and grow along the world.”

In speaking on the subjects of AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity in the new technological age, Thangaraj Petchiappan has written over thirty blogs on Cyberspace and Cloud Infrastructure management and spoken at over twenty events in the span of three years. Thangaraj has worked to raise awareness by sharing his ideas and experiences. Real-time vulnerability management and risk assessment are some of the topics he covered in these writings and speaking events, saying, “I created real-time solutions for detecting and resolving threats using AI and Security Copilot features.”

Through working with leaders from marketing, finance, technology teams, and cybersecurity experts, Thangaraj has gathered all the requirements and architectural details for the implementation and migration of these innovative technologies. Now, he’s actively working toward successful migration and implementation for the rest of the industry, no matter how resistant they may initially be to the idea. “Success always follows failure. We need to allow ourselves to adapt to the new technologies that will affect our daily lives in the future.”
